Subscriptions and usage billing, with the tax already right
Sell plans, seats and usage in one system. Every renewal, top-up and change is priced, taxed and invoiced in your name, and your customers manage it themselves in a portal with your brand.
Subscriptions
Plans, seats and meters
Flat, per-seat, metered and tiered prices, monthly or yearly, mixed in one subscription.
Changes with proration
Upgrades and downgrades are prorated; a preview shows the amount before anything changes. Pause, resume and cancel now or at period end.
Trials and discounts
Free trials, coupons and promotion codes, applied once, for a number of periods or for good.
Collection and dunning
Charge a saved card automatically, or send an invoice payable by bank transfer. Failed payments are retried on a schedule with reminders.
Test clocks
Move a test subscription through months of renewals, trials and dunning in minutes, without waiting.
Price migrations
Move existing subscribers to a new price on a date you choose, with the notice your customers are owed.
Usage billing
For high-frequency use, such as AI tokens, API calls or compute:
- Wallets hold a customer's prepaid balance, topped up through checkout or automatically when it runs low.
- Reservations and leases set money aside before the work starts and capture what was used, so a long job can't overspend.
- Usage events are idempotent: sending the same event twice never bills it twice.
Entitlements
What a customer bought becomes entitlements: features they can use and limits such as seats. Your app reads them over the API instead of hard-coding plans, and you can override them per customer. Ownrecord gates its own plans the same way.
A customer portal with your brand
Your customers sign in with an email link and see their invoices and credit notes, update payment methods and tax details, change or cancel their plan within the rules you set, top up wallets and export their data. Checkout, the portal and invoices come in English, German, French, Croatian, Italian and Spanish, and can run on your own domain.
