Changelog

What we've built and changed, newest first. Ownrecord is in development; these are the milestones completed so far.

  1. The in-platform assistant

An assistant on every console page that answers from the docs and the knowledge base and acts only after you confirm.

    • The assistant panel knows the page you're on and keeps your conversations.
    • It answers from the docs and the knowledge base, with sources.
    • It proposes changes as confirmation cards with a dry run of the effect, and respects approvals and your permissions.
    • Organization settings, a monthly message allowance per plan, and usage metering.
  2. Agents, OAuth apps, approvals and compliance tasks

Agents and partner apps act through OAuth under your approval policies, and registrations and returns become tasks.

    • An OAuth 2.1 authorization server: org agents with client credentials, partner apps installed on a consent screen, and MCP clients acting for a person.
    • A risk tier on every operation, approval policies, per-agent limits and dry runs for every financial and compliance operation.
    • Compliance tasks for registrations and returns, with registration packets, filing packages, leases, comments and evidence.
    • An event pull feed and MCP workflow tools, resources and prompts.
    • A guide to building an agent with a safety checklist.
  3. Customer portal, risk controls and custom domains

A self-service portal for your customers, risk rules and reviews, your own domains, and six languages.

    • The customer portal: sign-in by email link, invoices and credit notes, payment methods, plan changes and cancellation, wallets, tax IDs and data export.
    • Risk rules, a review queue and blocklists.
    • Custom domains for checkout and the portal.
    • Checkout, the portal, invoices and customer emails in English, German, French, Croatian, Italian and Spanish.
  4. Registrations, filing, refunds and reconciliation

Checkout follows your registration state; filing packages per regime; refunds with credit notes; disputes and reconciliation.

    • Checkout and renewals follow each regime's registration state, with escalating deadline alerts and an automatic stop before a missed deadline.
    • Waitlists notify customers once you can sell to them, and a demand page shows what you're missing.
    • Filing periods and reports per regime: EU One-Stop Shop, EU domestic VAT, UK VAT, Swiss VAT, US sales tax and others, reconciled with the ledger.
    • Refunds with credit notes, including corrections of earlier returns.
    • Disputes with evidence packs, processor reconciliation, bank statement import and accounting exports.
  5. Ledger and tax engine

A real-time double-entry ledger, the tax engine on the knowledge base, and tax ID checks.

    • A double-entry ledger per legal entity, with revenue per brand, daily invariant checks and manual adjustments that need approval.
    • Daily exchange rates from the European Central Bank.
    • The tax engine: VAT, GST and US sales tax for digital products, with location evidence, reverse charge and a rule trace. It stops a sale rather than guess.
    • The knowledge base loads into the platform with status gating: live sales use only reviewed or verified rules.
    • VAT ID checks with VIES, HMRC and the Swiss UID register, and a quotes API.
  6. Wallets and usage billing

Prepaid wallets with reservations and leases, idempotent usage events and automatic top-ups.

    • Prepaid wallets per customer and currency, with promotional and purchased credit.
    • Reservations and leases that set money aside before work starts and settle what was used.
    • Idempotent usage events and aggregates for metered billing.
    • Low-balance notices and automatic top-ups.
    • A LeaseManager helper in the TypeScript SDK.
  7. Subscriptions and entitlements

The full subscription system, from trials to dunning, and entitlements your app can read.

    • Licensed, per-seat, tiered and metered prices, with trials.
    • Upgrades and downgrades with proration, exact to the micro, and a preview first.
    • Coupons, promotion codes, price migrations and manual invoices.
    • Card collection or invoices paid by bank transfer, dunning, pause, cancel and reactivate.
    • Test clocks to run months of renewals in minutes.
    • Entitlements with an API, webhooks and SDK helpers.
  8. Catalog, checkout and invoices

Products and prices, a hosted checkout on your own Stripe account, and invoices numbered per brand.

    • Products, prices and features per brand.
    • Hosted checkout with location evidence capture, 3-D Secure through the Stripe Payment Element, and a waitlist where you can't sell yet.
    • Stripe connections per legal entity with restricted keys and automatic webhook setup.
    • Invoices numbered without gaps in a series per brand, as PDF, emailed to your customer.
    • Signed outbound webhooks.
  9. Accounts, isolation and the operation registry

Organizations, legal entities and brands, kept apart by construction, with every capability defined once for the console, the API and MCP.

    • Organizations hold legal entities, and each entity sells under one or more brands. Members get a role at the organization, one entity or one brand.
    • Every query is scoped to one organization by construction, and an isolation test runs on every repository.
    • Test and live mode are separate worlds for every brand.
    • Sign-in with Google, Microsoft or an email link; API keys per brand, entity or organization.
    • One registry of operations generates the REST API, the OpenAPI document, the MCP tools and the API reference.
    • A hash-chained audit log records every change.
