About Ownrecord
Ownrecord is software that lets software and AI companies sell worldwide in their own name, with correct tax, invoices, subscriptions and filings.
Why we built it
Selling digital products across borders means charging the right tax in every country, registering where the rules require it, issuing compliant invoices and filing returns. Many companies hand all of that to a platform merchant of record, which resells their product and charges a share of every sale for it.
We think a company should be able to stay the seller of its own products without building a tax department. Ownrecord does the hard parts as software: it knows the rules, keeps the records and prepares the work, while you keep your customers, your processor and your margins.
How we work
Rules are data
Rates, thresholds and deadlines are records with sources and review dates, never code. When we're not sure, a sale stops instead of guessing.
Honest about trade-offs
Being your own seller means registrations, tax liability and chargebacks are yours. We say so up front.
We use it ourselves
Our own plans are sold through Ownrecord, with the same checkout, invoices, tax and entitlements you get.
