Run finance for many companies on Ownrecord

Accounting firms and builders of finance agents can operate Ownrecord for their clients through the same operations the console uses, with the access each client grants and nothing more.

How apps work

  1. Your client installs your app

An owner or admin of the client's organization installs your app on a consent screen that lists what it may do. They can limit it to some legal entities or brands.

  2. Your app acts within that consent

Your app gets short-lived OAuth tokens. Every call is checked against the granted scopes, the current access of the person who installed it and the client's approval policy, and lands in the client's audit log.

  3. Work flows through tasks

Registrations and returns arrive as compliance tasks with their inputs and deadlines. Your app or your team claims them, does the work and completes them with evidence.

For agent builders

MCP server

Every operation is an MCP tool with read-only and destructive hints, and workflow tools cover common jobs such as working through the task queue. People can connect their own MCP clients too.

Approvals and dry runs

Clients decide which actions need a person's approval. Your agent can preview any financial or tax change with a dry run before asking.

Events

Signed webhooks and a pull feed tell your agent what changed, so it reacts to deadlines and new tasks instead of polling.

Test mode

Every organization has a complete test world with its own registrations and filing periods, so your agent can practise the whole compliance workflow safely.

App listing

Private apps work today: a client installs your app with its client ID. A public listing, with a review of each listed app before it appears, is being set up. Tell us about your app to be among the first.
