# Get a compliance task > The tasks.get operation: GET /api/v1/tasks/{id} in the REST API and the tasks_get tool in the MCP server. Returns one compliance task in the mode of the request: what to do (`title`, `description`, `checklist`), what Ownrecord prepared for it (`inputs`: the registration or filing period, and references to the registration packet, the filing package and the playbook, which `tasks.inputs.get` returns), its due date and priority, who holds it (`assignee`, `claimedUntil`, `leaseActive`), how it is finished (`completeWith`: `tasks.complete` or `tasks.submit`; `needsAuthorization`), and once finished the outputs reported (reference numbers, submission time, receipt files, notes), the authorization referenced, the approval request and any failure.
