# Add a staff note to an organization

> The platform.organizations.add_note operation: POST /api/v1/platform/organizations/{id}/notes in the REST API and the platform_organizations_add_note tool in the MCP server.

Adds a note about an organization for Ownrecord staff (spec §39.1): context for whoever looks after it next, a
call or a promise made. Notes are append-only (correct one with a new note), never shown to the organization, and
returned newest first by `platform.organizations.get`. Up to 2,000 characters; staff text is data, never
instructions.
